It is about time for the madness to begin. To be honest, we weren’t sure we would be back. Three years of BI Madness have ended with Qlik taking the final crown. Three years and only two other names have provided any real competition. Although this year, there is a new horse in the race — one that is really coming on fast! But regardless, we are not interested in the same old outcome and neither are you.

BI Madness 2019 will be different!

Basketball games lead to upsets. Popularity contests less so. But then, we were never trying to run a popularity contest. We were trying to educate people on the differences among the largest platforms. We are confident we did that. But this year, we are determined to do more.

So this year only four competitors and this year the brackets are more for show. This year, we will dive deep into various aspects of each of these platforms. We will touch on visualization, price, ease of use, flexibility, integration, search, and let’s not forget — the power to change an organization. It is a bit more of a rotisserie style competition. We may not even crown an overall winner.

But what if your favorite isn’t in the running? We are working with our technology partners, the ones engineering TradeCraft — to really up our polling and BI capability this year. You will be able to mention other platforms when we are collecting the voting on each area. Our articles will likely call out others as well. But in the end — we are focused on getting you under the hood of the four solutions at the top of the game right now. That is not just our opinion — check Gartner.

Along the way — we are also working to feature content from some of these companies as well. Part of the reason for this early article is to alert them we are on the way. Last year — 20K viewers tuned in to our competition. That is a standard monthly showing for us now. We are looking to educate 100K viewers this season. It all begins in just a week or two.
