Why I stopped chewing half sticks of gum
Listen I know you maybe thinking what is wrong with this woman. Who writes a post about chewing gum? Well, that would be me.
First of all, I love chewing gum for two reasons. It curbs my appetite, and the most obvious, it cuts down on bad breath. Duh, right? And since I’m no size 2, I need to chew it for both reasons. I’ve had this habit for as long as I can remember. Perhaps it started in my childhood when I was told to share a stick with my siblings, and continued into adulthood. Or maybe it’s because I’m greedy and want to chew gum now and later!
I love handbags and I change them often so this filthy habit of chewing half sticks of gum as you can imagine, isn’t smart when you change bags as much as I do. Let me explain!
I never clean out my purse completely when I am changing them. I should, but I don’t. And I may go days between changing bags again — so when I finally get back to that purse, the remaining half stick I never finished chewing is stuck to the bottom of my purse. Ouch! That shit is the hardest thing to clean up and my bags are stained with gum marks! It’s on my loose change, papers and all.
Not to mention, my kid started finding the remaining half stick and chews the paper right off! Gross! Could I clean out my purses? Yes, I could. BUT for now I will crush my bad habit, be an adult, and chew the whole stick!
