The Theory of X & Theory of Y are amazing philosophies on management and work motivation. These are what shaped the ways in which companies managed the employees.

Theory X is all about supervising the employee. Managers use reward and punishment techniques to get the best out of their team. The idea is to put systems in place so that even the most demotivated of employees bring out their best. This is ideal for a technical workforce.

Theory Y is all about building good relationships with employee such that they are internally motivated to bring out their best. It encourages discussion and evolution of processes. The systems in place are more fluid.This is ideal for a creative workforce.

Animaker being a highly creative company with a solid technical foundation, we can’t pick either of them. The only way to manage our Makers is by using a combination of both Theory X and Theory Y.
