Foggy Morning Walk

In response to this Creativity Challenge by Lindsay Linegar:

I accepted Lindsay’s challenge as a way to work through the sadness of my grandchildren moving far away.

Sunday, August 19— Day 51:
I completed my 103 Days of Creativity post for last week:

I created this post for alto’s Dinner Prompt on Snapshots:

And, I posted 22 comments on Medium, some lengthy.

Monday, August 20— Day 52:
I completed this post about the book I am reading, From Heartbreak to Wholeness by Kristine Carlson and it was published by Erika Sauter in her publication Hopes and Dreams for Our Future:

And, I posted 8 comments on Medium.

Tuesday, August 21 — Day 53:
Today turned out to be photography day!

On my morning walk, with two dogs on leashes, I managed to get a few sunrise photos, including this one:

And, this one of ducks forming a heart which was posted in alto’s publication, Snapshots:

On my way to a client’s home office, I got this shot of sandhill cranes:

In the afternoon, I took several photos of ducks and wading birds around one of our neighborhood ponds. Here is a Great White Egret:

And I posted five comments on Medium.

Wednesday, August 22 — Day 54:
I wrote this poem for the One Line prompt by Harper Thorpe on Chalkboard and it was published by Meg in her Resistance Poetry publication:

I also took several photos of our new dogs to use with the piece I am writing about about them.

And, I wrote this piece in response to alto’s Infidelity Prompt on CROSSING GENRES:

And, I posted six comments on Medium.

Thursday, August 23 — Day 55:
Other than nine comments on Medium, I considered this to be my creative day off.

Friday, August 24 — Day 56:
A heavy rainstorm arrived just as I was leaving to meet a friend for dinner. By the time I reached the Italian cafe, the downpour reduced to a drizzle. I chose an outside table, ignoring the continuing lightning and thunder. My friend was delayed by work and the weather allowing me time to take some photos of rain and raindrops which I used for this post on Snapshots:

This creativity challenge has increased my awareness of the little things around me that are fascinating but easy to miss. I now make a point of carrying not only my ever-present phone camera but also my Canon just in case a great shot is right before my nose.

I also posted six comments on Medium.

Saturday, August 25 — Day 57:
Fog was heavy this morning — typical for this time of year after an evening storm. I was fortunate to have my camera with me when I walked dogs at
6:30 am, resulting in the photo at the beginning of this post.

Later in the morning my husband and I took our guinea pigs to the vet for nail trims. Not an inspirational or creative activity, right? Actually it turned out to be very creative because of this guy I found hanging around on the porch of my vet’s Florida cracker-style building:

And, I completed my third post about the book I am reading, From Heartbreak to Wholeness by Kristine Carlson and it was published by Erika Sauter in her publication Hopes and Dreams for Our Future:

I also posted 14 comments on Medium.

And, below is a piece I wrote in response to alto’s July 31st “Parent” Tuesday Quotable in CROSSING GENRES, but it wasn’t published until now:

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
