In December 2020, conFAB, launched the Scottish Youth Poetry Slam Writing Group — this online community for young writers (14–17 y/o) is to develop skills, connect with other creatives and learn from brilliant industry professionals (poets, performers, directors, songwriters, rappers). Each month the guest facilitator approaches the 90 minute session in their own way — sharing their own work and experience, inspiring new forms of creative practice and, in many cases, exposing participants to a portfolio career model in the arts.

The year-long programme of free monthly workshops will culminate in our exceptional young writers producing a collaborative spoken word album set for release in October 2021. Our aim is to blur the lines between poetry, spoken word, songwriting and rap to include and encourage as many creative young minds as possible to unlock their potential.
