I Am Loud Productions — Return To Form
Return to Form is a new project from I Am Loud Productions celebrating different poetic styles. We’re producing ten new videos: five videos showcasing newly commissioned poetry in specific forms (univocal, concrete, golden shovel, sestina, and Shakespearean sonnet) and five corresponding workshop videos explaining how to write in these forms.
We’re commissioning ten spoken word poets for this project, pairing them up so that each pair writes in the same form and to the same prompt. These first five videos will demonstrate not only that spoken word poets bring a unique skillset to writing in received forms, but also that two artists can create radically different pieces from the same starting point. The five corresponding workshop videos will clearly explain these poetic forms and guide viewers in how to use them creatively. All of these videos will be closed captioned and freely accessible through our YouTube channel.
