I Am Loud Productions — Return to Form Season Two
We were so delighted to be awarded further funding from The National Lottery through Creative Scotland to produce Season Two of our Return to Form Series.
Following our successful pilot and the first season of Return to Form, for season two we are working with sixteen poets, and exploring eight forms from Found poetry to the Villanelle.
Within this series, we explore different styles of poetry and challenge poets to write in various forms. The aim of this project is to unify the perceived ‘traditional’ poetic techniques with contemporary voices to create new, exciting pieces.
Each form is presented with an excellent video directed to help visually illustrate the form. Each form video is accompanied by a workshop led by Dr. Katie Ailes to help poets and writers use these forms in their own practice. In addition to our Form workshops, the series began with four Form Fundamental videos — providing further background from the basics of writing poetry.
The workshops are suited for anyone aged 14+ regardless of their previous poetry experience. We hope Return to Form will encourage people to experiment with different poetic forms through our free, easy-to-use resources and our inspiration form videos. These resources have been created with students and teachers in mind, but are a great learning tool for all writers.
