A Windy Walk on a Late Autumn Afternoon
Part 2 of a November Walk Journal
11–23- 24
This was one of those days I went beyond my routine because I was tired when it was time for my usual walk between 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Two types of weather always stop me from walking: hot and humid, damp and cloudy, and warm, wet, and cold.
This morning was wet and cold. Anyone on the East Coast knows that damp and cold are very uncomfortable. I prefer dry and chilly, so I slept under my covers.
For some reason, I always have some weird, scary nightmare whenever I sleep in my bed when it’s dark outside. Well, this time, I had an extremely rare lucid dream. There’s no experience like that type of dream.
You know, the ones where you become self-aware that you’re dreaming while in the dream. I was in the dream, saying to hell with this and slaying all the fear and monsters against me. Then, I woke up in the middle of a snore.
I love the power that I feel with lucid dreams. Anyhow, I get some good sleep and begin my day. It’s getting later and later, and I had no idea I would take a delightful afternoon walk.
