The Creative Act

As I begin my walk after putting my groceries inside

I see the flurries frenetically blowing freely—some landing on my black scarf, others landing on my red and black Levi coat. I can’t help but notice the sun behind the thin clouds, which look like a glowing silhouette.

I haven’t looked at the hours of footage on the California wildfires, but my heart goes out to them. I don’t care how much money they have. Every human should have a home that they can call their own.

Shelter and a refuge. It’s very cold on the East Coast right now, but the sky looks like it looked when my region looked when we were affected by the Canadian wildfires. The sky was a muted pale grey, and the sun looked orange.

I wonder how many people took that beautiful blue sky with puffy white clouds for granted. I remember the day our normal air quality returned. I praised the Lord and took the deepest breath. Why? Oxygen and air…
