—Pearls were dangling
I told her not to wait for me
—what ocean washed her hair
She cashed out the register
—sandy and blonde, her neck is thin
She poured me a drink
—I remember its feeling
what sounds and creeks the floor makes
The people passing outside windows
The coldness rushes in her bones
tantalizing globes turn green, then blue
these pearls dangle stare
No milk could run its course
Nothing smoother than its sunny outline
—her gatekeeper waited for her—she begs
—naked is her thumb and nail
Men roll eyes, and women laugh
everyone decides to wear white today
and I’m here arguing with Adam’s course
—the stars could fall and still be still
what is wrong about a fight that never ends?
No conclusion, no distance—
The dark limos load their glasses
The stainless heat returns
as all good meals cook
I lay alone with Luci De’Lay.
