I was a young whippersnapper, somewhere between 19 and 22, desperately trying to figure out how to turn my brainpower into cold, hard cash. And then, like a bolt of lightning, I stumbled upon the magical world of Texas Holdem. Without a second thought, I dove headfirst into the thrilling depths of poker theory, pot calculations, and odds.
I devoured books by poker geniuses, absorbing every ounce of their wisdom. These masters of the game shared their secrets, and I thought I had struck gold. But truth be told, my results were, um… let’s just say they weren’t exactly brag-worthy. I had enough winnings to grab myself a cold beer or two. That’s it.
Having said that, poker taught me to control my emotions, discipline, and the ability to analyze. It was much more valuable to me than money.
In a sense, a poker player predicts the future and shapes it at the same time through the size of his bets, raises, and the tactics he or she chooses for a hand against a particular opponent.
Out of all the disciplines, heads-up was the one that I enjoyed the most. I found it to be the most challenging and psychologically focused.
At a certain stage, the idea came to me of combining everything I loved at the time: poker, girls, and fun friends with a great sense of humor. To this end, I developed the concept of home poker games in a completely new wrapper.
I took charge of arranging the theme and decorations and carefully considered the costumes. Then it was time to get people together. Consequently, I effortlessly discovered the right number of girls without much difficulty. I felt like I was Sigmund Freud writing to his beautiful patients to come.🤭
Furthermore, I encountered no obstacles when it came to organizing all the necessary arrangements. I willingly contributed my efforts to assist in sourcing uniforms and other elements to enhance the overall ambiance.
In a way, I was a blend of psychologist and detective, and I relished the experience. Usually, there were around 10 people at the parties. For ethical reasons, I hid the faces of other participants.🤭
