When you are on a healing journey, it's always two steps forward, and one step back. One day you may feel you're ready to take on the world, the next day, you may find the world to be unforgiving, ruthless and insurmountable. Thursday may be a rollercoaster, Friday may be a car that's run out of gas on the highway. A week of being in the flow may be followed by a fortnight of sluggishness and resistance running your life. A month of having all the answers come to you may be followed by another month of more questions than life can handle.

Just be kind to yourself. Give yourself the power of self compassion.

Listen to the pleas of your inner child. Baby yourself. When self love seems difficult to come by, start with self care. Give yourself your me-time, gift yourself a new scarf, treat yourself to one more cup of warm tea, have the raisin walnut cake you have been saving for the weekend.

Check-in with yourself many times a day and ask yourself a simple question, 'how are you doing'? And give yourself an honest reply. And if life is looking hard, give yourself a big, warm hug, tell yourself that everything will be okay and be hugged by moments of solitude in return.

Your inner child is a blabbermouth. Listen to it and it'll tell you things about yourself you didn't even know. It’ll tell you the times it felt abandoned by you or when it was wounded by others. When you lend it your ear, it may give you an earful, or a sweet nothing, but it’ll talk for sure.

The universe is also a motormouth, a chatterbox, and it just won't keep quiet. It prattles on and it talks through signs. Through numbers and words, through whispers and nudges, through dreams and thoughts, through angels and cheerleaders, through birds and bees, through ants and elephants, through road signs and milestones, through leaves and pages, through karma and intuition, through magic and miracles.

Make solitude your friend. Sit down with yourself and you'll hear the entire universe inside and outside of you talking to you and guiding you.

Happy new Ear.
