The Peabody Essex Museum here in Salem, MA opens it’s newest exhibition “WOW: World of Wearable Art” February 18. The New Zealand based exhibit boasts an awe-inspiring spread of wearable artworks from designers all over the world. Beyond the exhibitions gallery space, the museum teams up with Mass General Cancer Center and Massachusetts artist and cancer survivor Bonnie Ashmore to create “The Scarf Project | Nurturing the Tie Between Art & Healing”.

The design on each scarf depicts Ashmore’s vision of the molecular makeup of chemotherapeutic agents. These scarfs are being sold at the PEM Museum Shop, Images Boutique at the Mass General Cancer Center in Boston and at the Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center in Danvers. For each scarf purchased for $60, another will be donated to a patient at the cancer center in Boston.
