Getting Started

The drawing tool is a simple, fun and one of the most unique ways users can express themselves using our toolset. Our editor supports drawing on all media types including photos, gifs & videos.

A collection of drawings done by users on the Kanvas SDK.

To use this tool, a users must start by taking a picture, video or gif, per usual, from our camera or upload media from their camera roll. Then tap on the doodle icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Currently our editor offers a circle brush tip on 5 different sizes. Users can alternate between brush sizes to create thick or fine strokes.

Color Palettes

Our color palette includes just about every color under the sun. The initial selection of colors are those that appear on a typical color spectrum. Our secondary palette can be unlocked by tapping the swab to the left with the selected color.

That action then triggers a new gradient between white (far left), the selected color (center) and black (far right). This UX allowed us not to have to feature the colors white and black on our initial spectrum and fit generously into our existing UI if users wanted to brighten or darken a specific color.

To return to the original palette the user can just tap the circle swab a second time.

Eye Drop Tool

The eye drop tool is a tool we are really proud to offer. Not many apps allow users to pull any color out of the photos they are drawing on.

To access the eye drop tool, you have to enable the secondary palette as mentioned above, select the eye drop tool to the right of the color spectrum and select your desired color from your image.

Undo & Erase

No artist, on any medium, makes a masterpiece without a few mistakes. Luckily in the digital age, we have tools that allow us to reverse our actions flawlessly.

The Kanvas undo tool allows users to remove any stroke applied to the canvas in reverse chronological order. From the first stroke to the 1000th.

The eraser tool can not only be used for removing or cleaning up a drawing, but also for more creative purposes such as masking.
