Happy New Year from all of us at Creativity Design Group. 2018 was a very busy year for CDG as we have had the pleasure of serving our clients to help them grow their business and increase their exposure. We love each and every one of our clients and without them, CDG has no reason to exist! It’s time to give our awesome clients the spotlight they deserve; featured in this blog post are the major projects CDG has embarked on this year to help these awesome businesses showcase themselves professionally. At CDG our job is not only to build a website or design a logo, it is to ensure that our work brings huge success to the client we design them for! And now, let’s take a look at some design examples and how they aided our wonderful clients in the presentation of their business.

Eyedeal Vision, Pasadena, TX

Design example Eyedeal

Eyedeal Vision has been a major client of CDG since 2014 (at the time we were known as Creation Umbrella Creative). We have assisted Eyedeal start their first website in 2014, when they were known as Eyedeal Eyecare & Eyewear.

The original website we developed for Eyedeal Eyecare & Eyewear back in 2015. We also made another preliminary website for them back in 2014 (not shown) prior to this design.

The website’s color scheme is based on the colors of the walls and wooden display cases used in Eyedeal’s Rice Village shop. We wanted to tie the website’s design in with the shop’s interior design to effectively maintain consistency. However in late 2017, Eyedeal moved to a new location in Pasadena and no longer sold eye wear; this required the client to change their business name and start fresh with new branding. It is important to understand that rebranding a business is like starting a whole new business as it gives the owner the opportunity to start fresh, using the “old” business as a foundation.

Before & After: After Eyedeal stopped selling eyewear to focus on optometry services, we made a new logo to reflect the new business strategy.

After rebranding to Eyedeal Vision, we revamped their existing website to reflect the new branding.

After designing a new logo for Eyedeal, we worked with them to establish a new color scheme for the new brand and developed one consisting of three colors: teal, sky blue and white. We then took the existing Eyedeal Eyecare & Eyewear website, applied the color scheme and replaced the old logo with the new one (in addition to updating the information on the website to reflect the new business changes). New features added to the website included a call now button (on the mobile version), floating social media icons and a link to book appointments.

“The website allowed our office to have a personalized virtual 24/7 platform for prospective patients to get an idea of the types of services we provided. It provided a voice for us to bring our unique mission statement to patients at any time, place and allowed for scheduling at their convenience due to the online booking system that was inserted into the website. The website was essentially a virtual secretary that helped pass our message along as well as booked incoming patients for us.”

Design examples of branding for Stone Cold Meats

Stone Cold Meats: League City, TX

CDG worked with the owners of Stone Cold Meats, a startup butcher shop that specializes in specialty meats, to establish a branding system that would give their brand real character. Stone Cold Meats wanted a Western-style theme to give it that real Texan feel, so we developed a color scheme based on meat and butcher blocks used in conjunction with Western and old-fashioned style fonts. After the branding system was completed, we were able to develop their website and all of its graphics plus business cards and a logo design that follow all of the established branding guidelines. Additionally, we had to overhaul the first version of the logo provided by the client (see below):

In addition to providing assistance with branding, web and business card design CDG also assisted Stone Cold Meats in getting started with the use of social media to promote their brand. We helped Stone Cold Meats gain a presence on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram which led to an increase in followers upon the shop’s first day in business.

“70% of our business comes from social media. We went from 0 to 70 since opening the doors.”

Promote Your Messages!, Houston, TX

Promote Your Messages! (or PYM!) is CDG’s first affiliate company, which also provides consultations in helping small business owners choose the right promotional products and marketing materials to help them be successful. CDG provided PYM! assistance in branding, web design and print design. PYM! was seeking a vibrant color choice that conveys a fun sense of design with a serious focus on helping business owners. After choosing the yellow/blue color scheme, we were able to apply to it to their website and business card designs. To help get PYM!’s point across in a straight-forward manner, we designed their website in a one-page parallax format that has sections describing the company’s services and functions. This helps reduce the user’s need to dig endlessly through a large number of pages to find the information they are seeking.

Design example Jepr App

Jēpr App (Rand Innovations, LLC.), Frisco, TX

Rand Innovations approached us to get a sleek, modern logo designed for their new app: Jēpr. Jēpr is an app that allows users to conduct business related to the automotive industry; it was launched earlier this year and has already reached 1,000+ installs (learn more here). While CDG did not have any involvement in the development of Jēpr, we were tapped by Rand Innovations to not only design the logo but also assist with icons for the app’s mobile menu and notifications. The logo has two main tasks: to represent the app and its brand and also serve as an icon.

Design example Jepr Logo
Design Attempt #1: After brainstorming logo ideas and establishing font choices, we developed five total designs for the client to choose.

A logo has to represent the main idea of the product and/or its industry. Because the app is related to the auto industry, we incorporated automobiles in the design; additionally, because the word Jēpr is a play on the word “Jeep” we made one design that has an actual Jeep in it (second design, top row). The client liked the incorporation of a Jeep in the logo, so we developed two additional designs based on this concept.

Design Attempt #2: After the client asked to see a few different variations, we presented them these two additional designs. The design from the first attempt is the third one.

After presenting two additional designs, the client eventually chose to proceed with the original one we created on our first attempt (the third one above). After the client gave us the final word on the design, our last task was to optimize the icon for usage on Android and iOS. This included resizing the icon for use on the Android Play and iOS App stores as well as for home screens/mobile menus.

Design example website for Sunshine

Sunshine Prints & More, Houston, TX

Sunshine Prints & More is another major Houston startup who were seeking new customers for their yard greeting services; obviously, the first step towards making this goal come to fruition was to create a nice looking website. Similar to the Promote Your Messages! website, we built Sunshine’s website as a one-page parallax site divided into different sections. The user can learn quickly about Sunshine and what they offer by scrolling through; because the best way to show how great of a job a business does is with examples, several photos of Sunshine’s yard greetings are found in the site. Additionally, the use of a call button (that only appears on the mobile version of the site) allows visitors to quickly call Sunshine if they like what they see.

Thank you for being awesome clients and choosing CDG to help you get your businesses started. We look forward to continue serving you in 2019 and beyond and we wish you the best in your endeavors.
