Have you immediately lost respect for someone you’ve been admiring for years?

Well, I did. I lost respect for my favorite fashion and travel influencer when I saw her with dozens of shopping bags every week for months. I didn’t register the first time; the second time, it looked fishy, and ever since then, I have seen at least 100 shopping bags in her pictures.

Since 2019, I’ve been following this Delhi-based fashion and travel influencer. Only recently did I notice this shopping pattern before every campaign she did. She traveled every week for work, and each project required her to curate 2–3 looks, which meant shopping for every collaboration.

What broke my heart was realizing that she wasn’t the only one. Most influencers spend thousands of dollars on their wardrobe for every campaign and brand deal.
