What Writing Advice Would You Give Your Younger Self?

What kind of baby-writer were you? Did you start filling notebooks as soon as you could write? Did you think you actually hated writing until you read that one special oddball book that cracked it all open for you? Did some astute English teacher identify that you were a writer before you even quite knew yourself?

Let’s assume you could go back in time without destroying the fabric of space-time or accidentally seducing your own mother. (Back to the Future? Anyone?) Let’s further assume that you would use this incredible power to give yourself writing advice. Look, just tell your baby-writer self to read more books and fewer Facebook status updates, or to start building a newsletter list in 2018, or whatever the advice is, and then you can go buy some early Apple stock or something. What would that crucial advice be?
