Why Do You Write?

One of the things I love most about Medium is the variety of writers found here. Writers who’ve been at it for decades. Writers who published their very first post just today. Folks who write to share their professional expertise, personal stories, delightful obsessions, or thoughtful insights.

Maybe that describes you. Or maybe you write for other reasons. Connection. Community. To raise awareness. To earn some money. To share a part of yourself or your world. When you sit down in front of that blank screen and blinking cursor, what’s your goal? Why do you write?
