It was an inspiring speech made by Prof. Muhammad Yunus at the Yunus Social Business’ 8th Social Business Day in Bengaluru. I was happily surprised that Prof. Yunus views UBI as a sad end of humanity, likening it to turning the whole of society into beggars.
Something else he said that was impactful was that we cannot wait around and expect our environment to change to address the issues we face, but we must take initiative and be persistent in our drive to make that change happen. I’ve found I’ve often fallen into this trap even in my own business. Though no man is an island, we certainly cannot wait around as the waters rise around us and eventually drown us out.
