Dallas Johnston of Credify Inc reports from Bengaluru…

“Had an excellent discussion with Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus of Grameen Bank and Founder of Grameen Trust, a financial vehicle that is enabling Social Enterprises around the globe to implement their visions for real socioeconomic empowerment for the unbanked and underbanked.

We discussed the potential for #blockchain and #dlt to radically improve microfinance and microlending systems with transparency, efficiency and accountability, as well as the potential to implement new and novel frameworks for enhanced identification and the overall elevation of trust — something we are aiming to achieve at Credify Inc.

I was genuinely excited to see Prof. Yunus and his esteemed colleagues, Lamiya Morshed and Aarti Wig, so deeply knowledgeable of what blockchain is and already drawing insightful conclusions about its power to address many pain-points in existing microfinance infrastructure and operations.

One of the key takeaways is Prof. Yunus’s advice to go out and make it happen, get in on the threshing floor with MFIs to formulate and realize solutions that have, in earnest, been tailored to real-world scenarios, and not simply theorized or modeled.

Challenge humbly accepted!!”
