Dear Malta,

Members of the Credify team, including CEO Dallas Johnston, Head of Research Alfonso Rius, and Advisor Julie Butler were recently graciously invited to Malta to exhibit at the 2018 Malta Blockchain Summit. While the island itself is small, sitting between Sicily and the North African coast, its influence can now be felt throughout the blockchain world. The event was a huge success with over 8,500 attendees from all across the globe descending on the island to engage in talks, roundtables, and business deals as well as the myriad of other activities that are taking place within the growing blockchain ecosystem. Despite the fast pace of the conference and the late hours due to the non-stop events and the endless opportunities to network, the team left the island feeling recharged and ready to capitalise on everything gained from the event.

From the Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat, delivering a keynote address and personally connecting with many individuals in the blockchain community, all the way to the taxi drivers helping participants get to events as well as connecting them with the local cuisine, the island welcomed the blockchain community with open arms. Malta’s ongoing efforts to build a supportive ecosystem and regulatory framework to help blockchain startups did not go unnoticed by conference attendees, many of whom fondly referred to Malta as Blockchain Island.

“We had an amazing time meeting so many people with such diverse backgrounds,” Johnston shared. “The Summit organisers were very generous and warmly receptive people. We were lucky enough to have been selected out of 250 startups to be sponsored by Malta Enterprise, the country’s economic development agency, to have a booth in the Startup Village where we met many investors and a great number of genuinely interesting people and projects. Overall, Credify was looking to canvas the opportunities presented by the event, and we have managed to come away with some valuable partnerships in the process.”

“The conference was enjoyable, well-planned, and productive,” Rius added. “I can’t wait to return to Blockchain Island next year to meet more interesting people who care deeply about the blockchain space.”

“We are delighted by all the incredibly innovative startups that came to take part in the Startup Village at the Malta Blockchain Summit. Within the concept of the Startup Village, we wanted to showcase some of the most interesting projects within blockchain, AI, and IoT, and the turnout was an unprecedented success. I am very grateful to have met the team at Credify and to have learned more about their quest to create an unbiased crowd-sourced opinion and review system. Credify is one of those projects which I believe is at the core of what blockchain is really trying to achieve,” says Dennis Avorin, one of the event organisers.

Due to Malta’s blockchain friendly government, the dedicated conference organisers, and the warm reception from the Maltese people, not to mention the incredibly beautiful location, the entire Credify team hopes to come next year. “Thanks so much for the generous invitation to come to Malta and participate in the Summit this year,” Butler stated. “We had an incredible experience and would love to return on May 23–24 for the 2019 Malta Blockchain Summit.”

With love,
The Credify Team

About Credify Inc.

Credify Inc. is an early stage blockchain startup that is gearing up to deliver a game-changing solution for a universal reputation system in areas of online commerce that have to date been plagued by fake profiles, falsified reviews and outright fraud. The core Credify protocol has endless potential for applications beyond verification of vendor and consumer credibility in e-commerce marketplace settings, such as the socialised collateralisation of microloans as a replacement for joint liability groups, the potential to replace service level agreement contracts with stake-based alternatives, and the flexible insurance of loans as well as other financial instruments.
