Great to have you around! Read on to learn more about Ilja!

Ilja Strobbe — Full-Stack Engineer — Antwerp, Belgium

Reflecting on the past year, could you share a standout achievement that you’re particularly proud of?

It was a fun but busy year at Credix, as we faced numerous exciting challenges. The most ambitious one was implementing the historical data service, where we constructed the infrastructure to process and visualize historical blockchain data. We developed several new microservices, database schemas, infrastructure as code, and an event-driven system to automatically process smart contract instructions in real-time and store them as time-series data in our database. This information was then used to build informative dashboards visualizing useful investment information for our platform investors.

What is your favorite part of working for the company?

I appreciate how all engineers contribute to the entire stack, and the opportunity to learn from a group of intelligent individuals daily. The environment is fast-paced, which can be challenging at times, but the work atmosphere is very positive, and you constantly feel like you are building something useful. Plus, it’s a bonus that we have a very nice office, making the short commute even more enjoyable!

If you could offer a piece of advice to your future self one year from now, what would it be?

If I could offer a piece of advice to my future self one year from now, it would be to continue navigating the fast-paced challenges at Credix while cherishing the positive work atmosphere. Remember to strike a balance between professional growth and personal life, especially with the joys and challenges of raising two toddlers. Appreciate the support of the brilliant team, and, of course, make time for some sportive goals — a perfect way to clear the mind and maintain that delicate equilibrium.

What’s your favorite merchandise item?

The one I use the most is the running shirt. Every time I go for a run, I wear it. It’s witnessed more chaos than trying to feed my two toddlers spaghetti.
