Meet Jeannette Fuentes, Credix’s Product Design Intern
We are thrilled to introduce our newest addition to the team, Jeannette, as our product design intern, joining the Belgian team! Jeannette brings with her a unique and inspiring journey that has cultivated her passion for creativity and design. Her diverse experiences and evolving passion for design, particularly in the realms of web and UX design, add great value to the company!
We sat together with Jeannette, and this is what she had to say…
What’s your background and experience?
Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted my path in life to be one of creativity. I’ve always had my mind set on working with color and composition and becoming a designer. Fast-forward to 2015. I was graduating as a Graphic Designer in my country, Venezuela, where I gained enough experience to prepare me for the next year, the year I became an immigrant for the first time.
I arrived in Madrid in 2016, which was the beginning of my new life. I lived there for 5 years, where I worked as an in-house designer for a couple of multinationals in the communication department. Throughout those years, I got to work with branding, creating visuals for marketing campaigns, designing internal and external corporate documents, and infographics, doing custom illustrations for internal events and campaigns, and doing some web design (which I felt a pull for).
Then, in 2021, life happened, and I found myself moving to Belgium. By now, I was starting to realize that while Graphic Design had been “my thing” for many years, I wanted to learn something new. Two years later, my new-found love for web design organically pushed me into another direction I now wanted to pursue: UX Design.
Why did you choose Credix?
I have worked in multinationals all my life, where the culture is more impersonal with thousands of employees in the same building. I always longed for a more “familiar” or close environment. When I stumbled upon Credix’s job description and saw the website, I knew immediately that it was a match for what I was looking for.
On the other hand, I also believe in the project. Coming from South America, I recognize the power of change in providing people from developing countries with credit options.
What will be your role and day-to-day at Credix?
My role at Credix will be within the Product team as a Product designer. The goal is to improve the user experience on the platform, maintain consistency across the assets, identify improvement areas, and come up with solutions to existing problems.
What are you most excited about?
I’m most excited about becoming part of such a tight, international team and learning about all things DeFi.
