Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2nd 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat. Also known as the father of India, October 2nd is celebrated every year as Gandhi Jayanti by all Indians. Indian’s around the globe usually celebrate this day remembering the great leader who is still inspiring many youths across countries. Mahatma Gandhi was a well-loved and respected global leader, whose steps we must consider following even now for a better future.

Gandhi my Father is a film showcasing the early life of Mahatma Gandhi. The film shows us a more clear picture of his early marriage to Kasturba, his barrister from England and the great incident in South Africa. The film also sheds more light on Bapu’s family life with his sons especially with his son Harilal. This movie is directed by Feroz Khan and the film was highly acclaimed critically.

5 — Lage Raho Munna Bhai — 2006

Yet another blockbuster hit in the history of Indian Cinemas, Lage Raho Munna Bhai is a movie starring Sanjay Dutt as a gangster. Although the movie shows Mahatma Gandhi only in a small sequence, the whole film revolves around how Gandhism can turn a hardcore gangster into a staunch advocate of non-violence. Due to the film’s success in Bollywood, Lage Raho Munna Bhai was remade in many Indian Languages.
