Benelli can be yours for Rs. 1.3 lakh?
Seems like monkey bikes might be making a foray into the Indian 2-wheeler market. After the successful debut of Honda Navi, DSK has hinted at launching the Benelli TNT 135, which was earlier showcased at the Auto Expo.
The odd shaped bike is powered by a 135cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol motor producing 12.6 BHP of power @9000 RPM and 10.8 Nm of torque @7000 RPM matched to a 5-speed gearbox. The fuel tank capacity is 7.2 litres, which is more than enough to get you anywhere.
This bike is the heaviest 135cc bike in the segment (and also one of the smallest). It measures 840mm in length, 755mm in width, 1,025mm in height, 780mm of seat height, 1,215mm of wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 160mm.
The only problem is the company wants to retail the bike at Rs. 1.3–1.5 lakh. A lot of companies have better bikes at that price range and a consumer would have to be a loyal fan to pay such a hefty price for a bike like this!
