“True Teachers Are Ones Who Helps Us Think For Ourselves” — Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan

India is a country which has over many eras celebrated the art of teaching and teachers. Right from Dronacharya, Gauthama Budha to Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Ambedkar and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, India has had a lot of teachers who taught us a lot of values. It is this effort that the teachers put in which ignites our mind and shapes our future. CredR, India’s largest and most trusted consumer brand for buying and selling used bikes brand takes this opportunity in wishing all the teachers out there a Happy Teacher’s day.

Teacher’s Day is observed as a celebration of the birth anniversary of India’s former president Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who as a teacher shaped thousands of students’ minds and later became the president of India, leading the minds of crores of people.

Coming from a middle-class family in the suburbs of Thiruthani (Tamil Nadu), Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan showed the country that every dream is possible. Dr. Radhakrishnan was a dedicated student right from his childhood. He received his graduation from Madras Christian College in Mathematics, Psychology and History.

Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishna later served as teaching staff in Madras Presidency College and also taught in the Universities of Mysore, Calcutta and Delhi. Dr. Radhakrishnan was also the first Indian to hold a chair at Oxford University.

Being a scholar and an ideal politician Dr. Radhakrishnan was largely associated with teaching the masses. It was his idea to celebrate his birthday as a dedication towards the entire teaching fraternity. Along with many accomplishments, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was awarded Bharat Ratna in 1954 (the highest civilian honour).

Being a Teacher also means touching thousands of people’s minds towards betterment. We might have crossed so many teachers right from kindergarten to our professors at universities who have showered us with the love of knowledge and the power of thinking.

Teachers need not necessarily be scholars in a field, even a child can be a teacher and teach us to love everyone without any grudge. Similarly, our parents are some great teachers who teach us how to balance work and family life. Another perfect example of a great teacher can be a friend who taught you to ride your first bike. I still remember my friend who taught me how to ride bikes. People in-general teach you a lot of good values that will definitely shape you towards the betterment of life.

CredR takes this moment in remembering our teachers who taught us how to drive, friends who became teachers in teaching us how to maintain our bikes and biggest of all our customers who teach us how to serve better. Here is to every teacher among you who has made a difference in our life and cheers to inspiring millions ahead.
