Editor’s Note: Today’s post was written by Megan Laputz, Project Manager at MK Partners.

As a Project Manager, you’re part conductor, part diagnostician, and part lineman (it is football season, after all). It’s a role that requires juggling many hats, but the rewards are immense, and every day provides a new opportunity to learn and grow with your clients and team.

One hat of mine is serving as the bridge between clients’ aspirations and the technical implementation needed to achieve those aspirations within scope and budget. Our clients all want to go to the moon, and we want to ensure they have a safe spaceship to get them there.

Another hat is turning those aspirations into concrete, obtainable goals, which is the first key to success. I translate high-level ideas into project plans, ensuring that clients get exactly what they need and that they have a great foundation to grow on when the project is complete. While we all work remotely, seeing star-struck eyes from stakeholders as they see their vision come to life during build demos helps establish a personal connection and trust.

There’s no greater thrill than meeting and exceeding client expectations.

As a PM, I am responsible for ensuring that projects are not only completed, but done on time and within budget. When a project surpasses client expectations, it’s a moment of triumph for both the client and my team. That final moment when we deliver our client to the moon is a testament to the dedication and hard work that the project team at MK Partners puts into each project.

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a Project Manager, and my favorite hat to wear, is nurturing my team’s growth. My role isn’t just about managing projects; it’s about leading them to achieve their best. By providing guidance, support, and mentorship, I empower my team members to develop their skills and reach their full potential. Watching the team evolve, learn new things, and gain confidence is dynamically gratifying, both professionally and personally!

We’re incredibly grateful for Megan’s insight, experience, and contribution to Creme de la CRM here. She can also be found at both LinkedIn and Salesforce Trailblazer.

We are of course also grateful to you, our readers. And, if you’d like to contribute a guest post of your own, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Until next time, keep working hard, smart, and happy. And we’ll see you in the cloud!
