We’ll see you in New Orleans!

This year marks Dreamin’ In Color’s 3rd annual community conference for Black, Latinx, and Hispanic individuals engaged with or interested in the Salesforce platform and its integrated technologies, such as Tableau, MuleSoft, Slack, and AI. It’ll take place at the International Hotel and Resort, a change from previous years’ location and the first installment to take place in New Orleans, LA!

The official start date is Thursday, June 20th but badge pickup and a kickoff “Cookout” event on will take place on Wednesday, June 19th over at the Court of Two Sisters!

What to Expect (Weather Wise)

Visiting a new location always calls for a quick check on the weather, so here’s what’s in store for New Orleans, LA this week. Right from the gate there will be rain, followed by some humidity and potentially winds. It should not be happening all day, but sporadically. So, make sure to pack an umbrella, and comfortable clothes that will keep you cool and dry. Adjust to the occasion and have some fun while you are at it.

Soñando En Color

This is the first year to feature a Spanish-language track and a focus on Latinx and Hispanic communities: Soñando En Color.

If you plan to attend, be ready for a curated set of sessions, speakers, activities, and more for Latinx and Hispanic individuals on top of what you have experienced if attended before.

The Agenda

After Wednesday’s activities, the event goes into full effect on Thursday, June 20th. Starting at 7 am attendees can stop by, pick up their badges at the registration desks and enjoy a continental breakfast, while food supplies last. From there the event begins at 8 am with all sorts of sessions taking center stage, Whether it is a learning lab, product or training demo, leadership discussion, personal development, career or entrepreneurship focus make sure to review your agenda to plan and attend as many sessions as possible.

Stay Connected Using The “Whova” App

If you have attended a Salesforce community conference you are familiar with the Whova App. More and more accepted within the community as its features and functionality meet and exceed event goals. Nevertheless make sure to download the App and start connecting with fellow Trailblazers, right now!

From finding the next group meetup to learning more about sponsors and activities taking place each day the Whova app is your one-stop source to stay connected and learn more.

A Mardi Gras Awards Reception

The end of the first day will conclude with a Mardi Gras themed gathering at the Intercontinental. This activity will encourage each attendee to wear colors that include purple for justice, green for faith, and gold for power. So, make sure to pack an extra set of clothes for this part of the event to enjoy and dance the night away!

But don't worry as masks will be provided to get your Mardi Gras groove and take some pictures to remember the moment. Embrace the culture and learn something new.

Keynote

As always, the Keynote promises to be a huge draw! This year it’s none other than Trovon C. Williams who has spoken at previous events and will kick off the event on day 1 bright and early at 8 am.

Make sure to arrive early to get a good spot to hear the keynote.

In-Person Networking Opportunities

Dreamin’ in Color continues with a full agenda on its 2nd day going until 5 pm on Friday, June 21st. A ‘wrap-up’ gathering will take place, led by one of their founders, Tiffany Spencer. From there, the last happy hour will take everyone to the Dream House Lounge between 6 pm — 9 pm.

Throughout the event take the opportunity to meet Trailblazers you wish to connect and network with. Wine, beer, and other drinks along with some appetizers and food may be served during the happy hours activities so enjoy some food and have a down-to-earth conversation with the person right next to you.

Leverage these moments to learn more and make connections that may nudge your career opportunities to their next level.
