The countdown to Spring ’21 is on and, depending on where you live, the weather might already be adjusting accordingly! But despite the sunshine, the Spring ’21 release won’t be in orgs everywhere until mid-February which means there’s still time to run through the updates, upgrades, and features that we’re most excited to see roll out.

That’s right, it’s time for another round of our release highlights and today we’re taking a look at an awesome change heading to list views!

Add Custom Actions to “Recently Viewed” Lists!

Anytime Salesforce rolls out a feature that can save admins some clicks, we know it’s going to go over well at the office — and this is no exception.

Now, if you have an action you’d like to be able to trigger from a “Recently Viewed” list, say, logging a call, creating a task, or updating a record, you’ll be able to add a custom action to your “recently viewed” list views to accomplish it without having to click into the record first!

That’ll mean “Recently Viewed” lists are more consistent with other list views and make it easy for admins to add the actions they (and their teams) will find the most useful on each screen!

Salesforce does point out that it won’t work for every action (like “Printable View”, for example) so we’ll have to see what sort of limitations admins run into, but this is a huge step toward increasing the value of “Recently Viewed” lists and we can’t wait to see it in our orgs!

The Spring ’21 release will be hitting orgs everywhere by February 12th, so be sure to check out the release notes and stay tuned here for more release highlights as the big day gets closer! And, as always, if you want to a more in-depth discussion about a particular feature, to get a personalized look at what the release will mean for your org, or have other configuration, customization, and execution questions — drop us a line! We’re always happy to help.

Until next time, keep working hard, smart, and happy. And we’ll see you in the cloud.
