Hello again Math heads! After you’ve joined our community, eager to learn about our project and help us bring order to the modular ecosystem chaos, it’s time to evolve!
Each one of you has unique skillsets and passions. Some are curious and would love to get the best answers. Others are helpful, and enjoy sharing their expertise. While many just want to the job done and are reliable doers.
It’s around these 3 character traits that we are releasing our Crestal Testnet Experience Program.
As you may have read in our Roadmap, we are busy building some key modules that will reshape the way web3 projects are built! With our Testnet releasing 4 modules of this roadmap, we invite all of you to put our protocol to the test.
We are certain that the data we’ll collect will be priceless and we hope that your journey evolving your character will be fun and challenging!
Crestal Palace map
In your journey to level up your skills and collect valuable Crestal Rocks, you’ll get to visit a few blocks of the Crestal Palace:
The Board
Curious about the web3 modular landscape? Head over to the Board, where you can learn about the different modular services categories and explore the key metrics that make each so unique.
Crestal Design Assistant: Crest-Hal 9000
If Jesse didn’t meet Mr. White would he have used ChatGPT? Crest-Hal 9000 is a powerful web3 knowledge graph that guides builders toward the important design choices they need to make for their projects. Does it use ChatGPT? Maybe. But mostly it uses the collective knowledge of web3 experts who continuously refine its results by sharing their inputs and learnings.
The Blueprint
A good product is nothing without a well written recipe. Crestal Blueprint is a complete design document, with all requirements and implementable steps including performance benchmarks imprinted in a smart contract. This allows the builder to reproduce the modular design proposed by the Experts and test its performance.
Proof of Performance (PoP)
It’s a lawless land out there and sometimes we lose track of who to trust. So what’s better than a reliable verification & validation distributed network that constantly informs you about the status of your modular design and whether it’s performing as planned.
Choose your Path
As each Crestal Palace blocks offer different experiences to its guests, it might be important to plan your journey. But no worries, this is just a test run. So feel free to explore different paths.
The Builder Path
Builders are the key role in our story, all roles ultimately aim to support the builder in discovering, designing and deploying the best modular architecture for their project. As a builder, here’s what your can do:
- Visit the Board, consult its publicly verifiable metrics to take informed design decisions.
- Submit your questions and share your desired goals with Crest-Hal 9000 to get custom answers that saves your time designing your project.
- Request a Blueprint describing an optimized architecture design for your project with measurable Performance Benchmarks. So you can track how close you are to your project goals.
The Expert Path
Crestal is only as good as the quality of the Experts participating in it. Experts have built multiple web3 projects, and have deep expertise in key areas of the modular stack. Once you participate as an Expert, you will have a chance to share your knowledge and guide other builders to that 99.1% pure product. As an Expert here’s what you can do:
- Listen to the questions asked by the builders and provide answers and guidance that help them and contribute to the knowledge graph anyone can use afterwards.
- Understand the full details of the project a Builder is designing, and propose a full design Blueprint that achieves the key Performance metrics critical for the project success.
The Guardian Path
Crestal aims to be a credibly neutral source of information about the modular ecosystem. But also to reward Experts for delivering outstanding Blueprints that indeed contribute to a project’s success. This is where the Guardians come in, and this is what they can do:
- Independently collect important metrics that will enrich the Board and increase the transparency of the information it provides to Builders.
- Once a Blueprint design is deployed, verify its operations and submit a Proof of Performance (PoP) against the benchmark embedded in the Blueprint.
- Validate the metrics and Proof of Performance submitted by other Guardians.
Levelling up and collecting Rocks
During this testing period, we will be monitoring different users activities so we can learn and optimize Crestal. It’s also evident that certain activities are either time consuming (e.g. Experts answering questions), resource intensive (e.g. Guardians running nodes) or potentially costly (e.g. Builder deploying a Blueprint)
So no matter what role you chose to play, we will collect necessary data about your contributions, both in quantity across the testing period but also in quality. We are committed to building a product that removes the complexity of web3 architecture and ensures that Experts are supporting Builders with the best design choices.
The features that we would like to test will evolve as our Testnet progresses, but below are a few examples of interactions that will contribute to your experience level:
- Login with your wallet
- Browse the Board and filter the metrics you care about
- Submit design asks to Crest-Hal 9000
- Submit a request for Blueprint proposals
- Deploy a blueprint and measure its PoP
- Contribute knowledge to Crest-Hal 9000
- Run a healthy and active Crestal node
- Contribute data to the Board
- …
Each day, there will be a fair distribution of Crestal Rocks among the Testnet participants based on their position in the leaderboard. With an emphasis on quality.
Let the show begin!

About Crestal:
Crestal operates a decentralized platform that aligns the specific needs of Web3 projects with modular services architecture, designed, deployed and maintained by independent Expert Teams.
Once deployed, the Crestal blockchain rigorously monitors the services and benchmarks them through a Proof of Performance (PoP) consensus algorithm.
This PoP underpins a transparent incentive mechanism, motivating the independent Expert Teams to continuously refine and optimize their services. The result is high-quality applications ran efficiently across any blockchain of choice.
