This legendary english commentator is going radio for the Champions Trophy

Only Nasser Hussain and Mike Atherton from Sky’s award-winning team were picked to join the pool of world broadcasters for the upcoming Champions Trophy, which will be staged at the Oval, Cardiff and Edgbaston from June 1 to June 18.

Surprisingly, most revered of all cricket commentators, David Lloyd ‘Bumble’ was not included in the list, much to the surprise of many.

Although it may seem like a decision to be omitted from commentating for the CT was made by Sky, David did clarify on twitter that the decision was made by ICC instead:

But talkSPORT managed a genius coup has Loyd will instead be ‘loaned’ out by Sky to talkSPORT where he will head to radio to commentate on all three England group matches atleast.

As a cricket fan and a radio listener, I’m overjoyed by this.
