Why 2019 was the finest Year in Test Cricket?

Test cricket has had a long history of more than a 100 years, and there have been many legends of different ERAs. So this isn’t about finest cricketers so to speak, which can have subjective opinions. This is about producing results, which makes the game more interesting. And the year 2019 has by far produced more results (win/loss) than any other year in the entire history of Test Cricket.

2019 is also the end of this eventful decade. If we look back by decade, then in 2010s, 80.6 % of Test matches played, ended up with a result (win/loss), where as in 1980s it was only 53.76%.

Since 1980s, Test Cricket is becoming more result oriented. One can attribute this to the introduction and popularity of ODIs and T20Is, which makes Test Cricket interesting and entertaining.
