Dr. Stanley Andrisse

Dr. Stanley Andrisse, MBA, PhD is a convicted felon and a Professor of Endocrinology at Johns Hopkins University.

Stanley regards education as transformational. He’s right: obtaining higher education reduces recidivism by 43 percent at a quarter the cost of re-incarceration. Nevertheless, less than three percent of people released from incarceration each year hold a college degree.

Today, Dr. Andrisse is the Executor Director of From Prison Cells to PhD, a nonprofit that mentors formerly incarcerated individuals to further their education. His work has led to over 800 universities removing application questions about criminal histories.

Thank you, Stanley.
