Anthony Curcio was the golden boy of Monroe, WA. He captained the basketball and football teams, dated a beautiful cheerleader, and was lined up to have a good life. Never did he expect to spend time in federal prison.

Curcio graduated high school and went on to play football at the University of Idaho. The transition wasn’t as easy as he expected. He started partying a lot and would receive a suspension from the team. His sophomore year began with greater hope that quickly dissipated.

During practice one day he tore his ACL and required surgery. The injury imposed a long recovery but Curcio would encounter an unexpected problem. He got hooked on the Vicodin given to him after the surgery.

The addiction crept up on him and he resorted to buying pills off the street. When that didn’t work he would attempt to purposely injure himself in order to obtain more scripts. Then he started forging them himself.

His family convinced him to go to rehab and after completing his program he returned home with a new outlook on life. He got married to his high school girlfriend, had two kids, and got a realtor’s license.
