It was Monday morning, September 21, 2020 that Jonathan Amerault, 25, was reported missing by his mother. He had last been seen two days earlier, on Saturday, September 19. By all accounts, Jonathan was an accomplished hiker, so it wasn’t unlike him to be off the grid.

Jonathan’s mother became alarmed when she saw that his hiking gear was at home — meaning that he had returned from his Saturday hike, but hadn’t been heard from since and didn’t report to work that following Monday. The Keene Police Department conducted a welfare check to Jonathan’s home, but found no sign of Jonathan or his Subaru Impreza.

The police contacted Jonathan’s work, Teleflex Medical in neighboring Jaffrey, New Hampshire, who confirmed that he had not reported for work that day. Jonathan’s employers informed police that a close co-worker of Jonathan’s, Britany Barron, 31, had also not shown up for work that day.
