In 1969, millions of people watched as The Apollo landed on the moon for the first time. Astronauts gathered rocks and minerals while they were there. Along with those samples, other astronauts brought back a piece of a meteorite that was thought to prove that there was life on Mars.

The materials were kept in a facility at Johnson Space station in Houston. A place where they were supposed to be safe and available for scientific testing. Which they were until 2002.

Thad Roberts was a brilliant theoretical physicist. In the spring of 2002, he was accepted into NASA’s co-op program. It seemed to be a dream come true for the young man. He always wanted to go to the moon, and this seemed to be his chance to do it.

His wife stayed in Utah when he got the job. Their scandalous beginning, having sex before marriage and confessing to the president of their Mormon church, got them in trouble. But Kaydee Roberts still believed in their shared faith. And Thad wouldn’t be able to spend much time with her, even if she came along.

It turned out to be a mistake. While working with NASA, Thad found himself enamored with a fellow intern named Tiffany Fowler. The two began having an affair that became the talk…
