Mugshots of Charlene and Gerald Gallego. Killers that terrorized the west coast in the late-70s and early-80s. They murdered their victims, often two at a time in an effort to obtain “love slaves.”

The first person in this twisted tale — Gerald Armand Gallego

Gerald Armond Gallego was born in Sacramento, California, on July 17, 1946. According to reports, his mother was raised in an extended family, including murderers and child molesters. When he was born, she was a prostitute working Sacramento’s Skid Row. Gerald even became a runner for her various pimps in the 1950s.

His father was already incarcerated at San Quentin by the time Gerald was born. Still, even when he was paroled, he wasn’t around. Gallego Sr chose his criminal life over that of his family. Apparently, in 1955, his father was the first man to be executed in the gas chamber in Mississippi after killing two police officers during an attempted prison escape.

Gerald would go on to carry on the family tradition that centered around utter rebellion and total disaster. His first run-in with the law happened when he was only 6-years old (I couldn’t find out what this entailed), and it only escalated from there.
