It was the 1970s.

The Ugandan President, Idi Amin, was convinced that South Asians were destroying his country, and he was hell-bent on kicking them out. He gave families 90 days to uproot their lives and go elsewhere.

The Hindochas were one such family.

The family had to move out of Uganda. After several failed attempts, they eventually got asylum in Sweden. They settled in Mariestad, and by 1982, they welcomed Anni Hindocha into their life.

Anni grew into a carefree woman who encouraged people to live life to the fullest. She wanted people to sing and dance and laugh more. Her family and friends loved her, and Anni was excited to start her own precious family.

Little did she know that her wish would turn into a death sentence.
