The Riots That Changed The World
An unfair tax caused a massive rift between Britain and the colonies.
In 1760, Britain was deep in debt. The blame was placed squarely on the colonies. British Parliament argued that a lot of money was used to defend the new land and keep the colonists in order. They passed The Stamp Act in 1765, which taxed every piece of paper sent to the colonies.
