September 14th, 2007, seemed like any other day. The Gosden family was going through their usual morning routine in their Doncaster, South Yorkshire home. Glenys Gosden noted that her son, Andrew, had a difficult time waking up and seemed irritable. It wasn’t initially thought of as anything more than typical teenager issues, but it was unusual for Andrew as he was usually an early riser.

The family consisted of Glenys and Kevin, who were the parents of fourteen-year-old Andrew and sixteen-year-old Charlotte. Andrew left the house at his usual time at 8:05 am in his school uniform and headed in the direction of his bus stop.

Andrew was only eight days into the school year, and his parents were surprised to learn Andrew had stopped taking the school bus and was walking the 6.4 km home instead. Andrew was small for his age, although he was fourteen, he looked much younger than he was. He wore a strong prescription of glasses; he was deaf in one ear and was described as quiet and shy. He…
