60-year-old Allen Dorfman was a millionaire insurance executive and a middleman between the Teamsters' top union leaders and Chicago’s mob bosses. He lived a life in the world of crime and knew the Teamsters’ and mob’s dirty little secrets.

Allen had a close business relationship with Irwin Weiner, who was known as the ‘money man’ for the mob. Allen and Irwin had seen their fair share of trouble and had been in trouble with law enforcement in the past, along with Las Vegas mobster Anthony Spilotro.

Allen, Irwin, and Anthony had been put on trial on fraud charges in Las Vegas. However, all three men evaded conviction after the key government witness in the case was murdered. Without the witness, the men had to be acquitted on the charges.

Bribery Charges

In late 1982, Allen was once again put on trial along with Teamsters President Roy Williamson for attempting to bribe Nevada Senator Howard Cannon on a trucking bill coming up in the state legislature. The men were hoping Cannon would put a stop to the bill.
