They Gave Him Everything and He Still Wanted More
Chris Sutton felt his family betrayed him as a teenager and it festered inside of him for years.
Chris Sutton was a troubled kid. Raised in Coral Gables, Florida his parents John and Susan Sutton tried their best to give Chris and his sister Melissa a good upbringing. They adopted both children with Susan giving up her nursing career to devote her full attention to the kids.
Whether it was a feeling of insecurity or something even more profound, Chris acted out. John would drop his son off at school and learned that Chris often walked out the back door. Because of this behavior, he was kicked out of numerous schools.
Worse was when he started getting in trouble with the law. Chris and a friend broke into a teacher’s house and vandalized it. This led to an arrest and the Suttons being sued for the damages.
According to CBS, there was an incident where Chris pointed an unloaded gun at his mom and sister, threatening to kill them.
At the age of 16, his family found a note in his bedroom that contained plans to kill his parents for inheritance money. Chris said it was a joke. But it was the final straw for the Suttons who worried that their son would become violent.
