At age 23, aspiring novelist Ylenia had caught the travel bug during her studies at King’s College in London, England. However, after choosing to take a break and eventually making her way to New Orleans, Louisiana, Ylenia would mysteriously vanish without a trace in a case that, to date, remains unsolved.

Ylenia Carrisi was born in rural Cellino San Marco in the region of Apulia in southeast Italy on November 29, 1970, to parents Albano Carrisi and Romina Power. Her parents are famous musicians and actors in Italy, known as the country’s “Sonny and Cher.” Ylenia is also the granddaughter of American actor Tyrone Power and Mexican Actress Linda Christen. She had at least one younger brother, Yari.

At 13-years-old, in 1983, Ylenia appeared alongside her parents in a film called Champagne in paradiso. Several years later, in 1989, she served the role of Vanna White in the Italian version of Wheel of Fortune.
