He lay in a shallow grave, half-naked with his hands bound behind his back, as if they were tied up. In the photo, there was a single gunshot wound to his head.

Despite the chilling image, Ramon Sosa is very much alive. He had to stage his own murder to ensure his safety against his own wife.

Ramon Sosa & Maria de Lourdes Dorantes

Ramon first met Maria de Lourdes Dorantes, also known as “Lulu,” at a nightclub in 2007. At the time, Ramon, 40 years old, had recently ended his first marriage and transitioned from a successful boxing career in Puerto Rico to becoming a trainer in Houston, Texas.

Lulu, an absolute beauty, captivated him at first sight. What started as her accidentally stepping on him ended with the two of them dancing the night away. The first song — “Brujaria” that they danced to will become their song. That Latin song title song meant witchcraft, and Ramon was quite smitten and under her spell.
