If only the killer was locked up for the heinous crime he committed before he murdered Jimmy
In May 2008, Jimmy Mizen, 16, bled to death in a bakery in an unprovoked attack, and his parents have forgiven their son’s killer.
“On the night that Jimmy died, I promised him two things in the quiet of my bedroom when I was trying to make sense of what happened, and that was that I would do everything to keep his name alive and that I would dedicate my life to working for peace” — Mrs. Mizen.
Jimmy John Mizen was born on May 9th, 1992, in London. He was from a big family, one of 9 children, and they were all close. Jimmy was an adorable child, growing up and very easygoing. He was popular in a way that everyone knew him as a happy and positive lad. Jimmy would often stand up for other kids who were being bullied.
Jimmy used to work on Saturdays at his dad’s Shoe Repair shop where all his siblings also used to help out. The family were devout Roman Catholic and were churchgoers. According to Mr. Mizen, Jimmy was very proud of his faith. One of the qualities that made this young man incredible was his readiness to help those that needed him.
