American Murder: The Family Next Door was a True Crime documentary released on Netflix on September 30, 2020. It was based on the murder of Shanann Watts, her two daughters, Bella and Celeste, and the unborn Nico.

The murders occurred in August 2018 in Colorado and garnered serious public attention.

The 35-year-old Shanann entered a dream life after marrying the 33-year-old Chris Watts. The couple had met through Facebook in 2010, got married in 2012, and Shanann was a happy wife and later a happy mom.

We know she was happy because Shanann constantly took to Facebook to video-document her life.

There were posts on a daily basis- be it the livestreams of her playful daughters, a little cooking session in the kitchen, or posts where she showered praises on her doting husband.

And later, these reservoirs of social media logs would prove to be a vault of evidence.
