May 14th, 2018, 8:20 PM, Linthorpe, Middlesborough, U.K:

Mitesh Patel’s stuttering voice cracked through the speaker:

“I think we have been burgled, and my wife’s been attacked.”

“I have come home, and the house is ransacked. She’s on the floor. She got duct tape all over; she’s like unconscious.”

The operator at the other end listened in rapt attention. He was trained not to be overwhelmed and to follow the procedures. He instantly dispatched an ambulance unit, informed the police, and both ran on blue lights to the location.

Mitesh was still online, frightened and flustered while removing the duct tapes off her wife.

“Are there any marks on her,”? Is she responsive? The operator knew the answer was critical; he had seen enough cases.

“No, Jess, come on, baby, wake up .”Mitesh sobbed frantically.

The emergency services reached Mitesh while he was still on the call. Despite such a speedy arrival, it was too late for Jessica.
