β Mastering the Art of Falling: A Judo Lesson β
Every year, many people go to the Emergency Room because they have fallen inside their own house, and for some elderly people a broken bone is a very serious matter; however, if you take a grappling art like Judo or Aikido, the first thing you learn is to fall, and the first part of mastering that lesson is to relax.
I grew up in Los Angeles, and one day I was walking down some stairs at school, when three or four gang members from behind violently shoved me forward; for any one else, that would have been a serious injury when that person tumbled down the stairs and landed on the bottom hallway; however, those gang members who shoved me were shocked at how I landed.
I know how to fall, and the first rule is to fall, donβt resist the fall; however, make sure your head is safe and donβt allow anything to be hurt: just fall; the next rule is to breathe out and not hold the breath, for this is key when being punched by a boxer of kicked by a Korean Tae Kwon Do master, breathe out a long continuous breath as you fall because most people hold their breath.
That act of holding it in is one of the reasons people do to the emergency room because you are not absorbing the damaging blow, so I felt like an eagle flying down to touch the ground after flying high from the clouds.
Boom, everyone on the step froze for no one dare turn in the gang members or they would later be beaten up, and even those in the hall way froze.
β I simple smiled, stood up,
. . .picked up my books, looked up and saw the guilty members, as I walked away cheerfully, for I had no bruises, no pain, I most enjoyed seeing their stunned faces that I was not hurt.
After that day, I became a hero to those who had been beaten by gang members and even those very gang members would smile to me and call out me name excitingly: Pablo, Pablo, Pablo!
See in judo, you are thrown violently by the sensei and class members to teach you that you can take any fall.
β Cancer Pain and Learned to Walk Backwards β b
At one point during my 5 years of fighting cancer, I could no longer walk because I suffered from extensive nerve damage from the chemo because I have 5 to 8 different types of chemo, including chemo put directly into my spine which was the most painful shots I ever had in my life.
I was in a wheel chair for about half a year, I had to get a disabilities sticker for my care, and getting in and out was hell, for I never thought that I would lose my abilities to walk for I had been pushed down flights of stairs and survived.
Then the physical therapist came directly to my house, and I relearned to walk again, for he had had me walk backwards, sliding my foot and holding the walls of the hallway, and it worked, step by step, moment by moment, I could move.
Why backwards?
Because you are sort of moon walking backwards like Michael Jackson did; so watch Michael dance for he is going backwards, and there is better stability, and remember some of those moves were invented by my genius cousin in Los Angeles who is the only person to ever defeat me in a dance battle: Grrrrrrrrrrr, grrrrrrrrrr, and grrrrrrrrrr.
I have never been defeated in a street fight, except by my cousin
Master Pain and Become the Grand Master
By learning the art of falling, or the art of taking a punch or the art of taking a kick, you become indestructible in a fight as you. wait for your opponent to make that critical mistaken or opening, as you enter into the Master Zone, completing your winning throw, finishing your knockout punch and executing your devastating kick to the head.
β Master Writing through the Gamification of Flow
The first draft of anything is like learning to fail or learning to fall or learning to be struck down by lighting, so fail and fall, like I did when I was thrown down a flight of stairs.
Flow with the words, donβt block, donβt hold your breath, and donβt criticize: for it is the foundation to perfection.
How did I win real street fights? Shhhhhhh!
I moved around them aa they were hitting me, as I accepted their love blows, because I was entering their sacred space and because their arms or legs were never fully extended, their powers were never fully generated
β Ready for the Secret?
I hit them, I punched them or I kicked them with a kidney shot in their back, and every singled time, they went to the ground, out of breath, and some even became unconscious because in all their life, in all their fights, no one hit them in the back.
With Calculated Presicion, I did . .
. . .for I waited for them to recover on the ground, and I always helped them up; for usually, these were full blooded Koreans who hated mixed blood Asians like me, and usually, they had studied all of their lives martial arts like me, since they were kids, and they usually possessed black belts and were some of the toughest street fighters from the slums of Seoul, where my some of my family lived: my home!
Remember Bruce Lee, the king of kung fu, was mixed blooded like me and on the streets of Hong Kong as a teenager, he fought for his honor as full blooded Chinese gang members tried to kill him.
However, Bruce Lee never lost a street fight; so I understand that this sad fact of being proud to be an Asian, but being attacked by Asians for not being Asian enough, Bruce as literally called DEVIL.
β Create a ReVision of your Draft
You need a new βVisionβ of your draft, and two parts must be thrown to the ground and rebuilt: the introduction and the conclusion, so spend more time on this and the title is really key, but many here donβt spend time crafting that better.
Walking backwards, I relearged to walk, and by reading backwards, i learned to read better, for I always read the last paragraph first and go backwards, so this is how I read novels, and some authors write the last part first and the first part last.
β Why Go Backwards?
You are in a sense time traveling, since you are looking for an opening, so you want to circle around the back and deliver the kidney shot of something different: this is your master voice, for you need to say something like
β . . . love is never about compassion it is about stealing the heart . . . so you can eat it in front of their eyes. . . .β
See, this is what horror is, and I love to read Chinese horror: real love . . . HAHA, eat me. . . .
In Chinese zombie tales, they prefer to eat the heart or liver, never the brains, and incorrectly, we calls these heart eaters, Chinese vampires, not zombies; isnβt the heart or liver better for you?
Muscle meats or steaks are not that healthy; instead, the heart or liver of an animal is the healthiest part.
