Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As 2015 comes to an end, I am writing to thank you for supporting the International Crisis Group’s vitally important work to prevent and resolve deadly conflict.

As the world wrestles with wars bleeding over borders and refugees fleeing in ever greater numbers, Crisis Group provides indispensable information to policy makers. We draw attention to the human costs of ignoring festering conflict, and highlight the value of strategic action to prevent small fights from becoming big wars.

Crisis Group today is well positioned to respond quickly to political developments and help shape the international agenda. In early 2016, we will launch a new project on violent extremism, which is representative of our increased focus on thematic and cross-cutting issues. We are more visible on traditional media and social media channels, and are building a smart new website to make Crisis Group’s reporting more accessible.

Even as we evolve in response to political and technological changes, we will stay true to our mandate to provide in-depth, field-based analysis to inform the public and influence decision makers. This year, we produced 57 analytical reports and briefings — as well as 115 statements, alerts, blog posts, video documentaries and photographic essays. We also published 175 op-eds and commentaries, more than one-third of them in languages other than English. Many of you relied on our monthly CrisisWatchbulletin tracking global tensions. The links below point to some of our best work in 2015.

Our reporting and advocacy would not be possible without your support. Your generosity is an investment in peace, in stability and in the welfare of people in conflict-affected regions around the globe.

DONATE NOW

On behalf of the staff and Board of Crisis Group, we wish you all the best for the New Year to come.
