CRL Launches New Meetup for Local Businesses & Hardware Entrepreneurs
Building a successful Hardware Startup is never easy, it can be confusing, tiring, lonely and time and money intensive. For these reasons and more the Central Research Laboratory is excited to launch a new networking event in West London “Building Hardware Connections”, with the first session taking place on the 26th January from 6pm — 9pm at the Old Vinyl Factory, Hayes, UB3 1HA.
It’s open to hardware businesses, suppliers, manufacturers, investors, designers, enthusiasts and all the other players that contribute in bringing innovative products to the market and are interested to build their connections and useful collaborations, to hopefully make being in hardware not quite so hard.
‘Building Hardware Connections’ is an environment in which to network, and share challenges and successes.
The CRL are hoping to foster new links in West London, by connecting;
Makers, and those interested in creating and problem solving, product development
Local Businesses, start ups, SME’s and large businesses who have an interest in hardware and supporting innovative entrepreneurs
Engineers of various disciplines
Designers, and those interested in the aesthetics of products
Manufacturers, on both a small and large scale
Policy makers, who participate in shaping the future of the industry through their decision making
Academics, who have an interest in hardware research and people, product and place
Retailers, who are interested in talking to product designers and manufacturers
Consumers, who have an interest in hardware trends and feedback
alongside anyone else who has an interest in being active in the hardware ‘eco-system’.
Our first session brings together insights into hardware and community and connection building, from Somerset House in Central London, to the floors of CES in Las Vegas and to the manufacturing factories of Shenzhen!
Guest Speakers include Tom Tobia, Founder of ‘Makerversity’ — on building a hardware community.
Alex Peet, the CRL Product Development Lead will be providing some insight to tech and hardware trends after his visit to CES 2017— Las Vegas
CRL start-up focus: Eugene Nadyrshin — Digital Kinematics — ‘Hitting the ground running in Shenzhen — tips and tricks for making the most of your trip as a hacker/maker/founder’
We will also be launching our new co-working offer at the Home of Hardware, an environment for hardware businesses to base themselves, to meet, collaborate, build, and grow their businesses.
